The Bollywood blockbuster of 2017, a sequel to the 2014 hit Ek Tha Tiger, is an exhilarating, high octane espionage thriller showcasing superstar Salman Khan in his most intense and entertaining avatar. The film is directed by Ali Abbas Zafar and produced by Aditya Chopra. Set against the backdrop of war-torn Afghanistan, Tiger Zinda Hai revolves around two operatives from different countries who fall in love when they are sent on a joint mission together. Suddenly they find themselves caught in the middle of a war that neither has control over. What destiny has in store for these two lovers is both heartwarming and heartbreaking at the same time. Sounds simple enough, however, the film deals with various concerns. First, should an operative be allowed to form a relationship with someone outside his country.. Also, what is the right thing to do when that person is being threatened?
Fifteen minutes into its theatrical release, Tiger Zinda Hai raked in Rs. 21.6 crore ($3 million), making it the fourth highest-grossing Bollywood film in its opening week at Indian theatres. By 30th December 2017, it had collected 627 crore ($91 million). The soundtrack is composed by Vishal Dadlani, Shekhar Ravjiani and Tanishk Bagchi. The lyrics were written by Amitabh Bhattacharya, Shekhar Ravjiani, Kumaar and Tanishk Bagchi. The first song from the film titled "Tiger Zinda Hai" was released on 17 November 2017. The second song from the film titled "Dil diya hai" was released on 19 November 2017. The third song from the film titled "Zinda" was released on 21 November 2017. Trailer of Tiger Zinda Hai official teaser launched a new look of Salman Khan in a salt and pepper look with a rugged stubble. The third song from the film titled "Zinda" was released on 21 November 2017. The fourth song from the film titled "Dil Diya Hai" was released on 25 November 2017. The fifth song from the film titled "Tiger Zinda Hai" was released on 29 November 2017. The sixth song from the film titled "Jaanam Film Mere Dil Ko Chhupa Hai" was released on 1 December 2017. On 25 November 2017, a series of posters were released on Salman Khan's official Instagram account by Zafar for Tiger Zinda Hai. Some of the posters include the tagline "Buddha is Dead". Promotions for Salman Khan's previously-released film Sultan also included that line. The same message also appeared on banners and billboards located in Indian cities such as Mumbai (Bombay), Delhi and Hyderabad. Representatives from the police department in Mumbai, however, stated "There is no need to panic! The poster does not mean anything", and asked people not to take its message too seriously.
